NCBFAA CONTINUES FIGHT AGAINST SED CHARGE

The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America is stepping up its effort to stop or delay ocean carriers from imposing a $100 charge per paper USPS EXPANDS INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP WITH DHL

The U.S. Postal Service said it will expand the international expedited delivery services it offers in partnership with DHL Worldwide Express and change the brand to Global Express Guaranteed, or GXG.

The USPS launched the former Priority Mail Global Guaranteed service program with DHL in April 1998. The new GXG is now a permanent service. It offers guaranteed delivery to more than 200 countries. The USPS handles pick-up in the United States, while DHL performs all international services.

GXG is now available for parcels as well as documents, the USPS said, and can be used at about 20,000 post offices around the country.

John Kelly, president of expedited/package services at the USPS, highlighted the addition of China to the list of destinations covered under GXG.

“I’m pleased we were able to gain entry into what could become one of the world’s largest markets,” Kelly said.
