NCBFAA HOSTS EXPORT/IMPORT SEMINARS

The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America has scheduled export/import seminars this winter.

“These educational offerings are geared toward professionals of all levels and offer valuable information that can be applied to customs brokers’, freight forwarders’ and OTIs’ (ocean transportation intermediaries’) daily business practices,” the NCBFAA said.

The first day of the seminar covers cargo transportation, transport documents, ocean shipping, export clearance requirements and quotes. Attendees will also hear presentations by U.S. government officials from the Bureau of Export Administration, Census Bureau, and Customs.

The second day covers the port activity tracking system; a review of the entry process; audit procedures; record keeping requirements for brokers; customs regulations and fines; and an action plan for brokers to prepare for an audit.

The seminars will be held in Atlanta, Nov. 6-7; Houston, Nov. 27-28; and Los Angeles, Dec. 10-11. Locations, session breakdowns, and registration forms can be found at the NCBFAA’s Web site: http://www.ncbfaa.org.
