NCBFAA SEEKS MEMBERS? INPUT ON FAA AMENDMENTS

NCBFAA SEEKS MEMBERSÆ INPUT ON FAA AMENDMENTS

The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America is surveying its members to find out how the Federal Aviation Administration’s Emergency Amendments for Indirect Air Carriers has affected business.

The NCBFAA plans to compile an informal impact study to share with other trade-related organizations.

The association noted in the memo to members that customer profiling under the “known shipper” concept will have a longevity. The group wants to know how this and other changes will affect business, as shippers need to comply to the new ruling under FAR 109.

Information the NCBFAA is seeking includes:

   * Ideas, suggestions for immediately improving or modifying the known shipper concept to provide acceptable security screening while lessening the burden on industry.

   * Problems encountered and questions regarding the emergency amendment.

   * Inconsistencies identified in the interpretation and implementation of this amendment.
