NCBFAA TO ESTABLISH SCHOOL FOR BROKERS
The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America will soon create a certification program designed to keep members current with developments in the fields of customs and logistics, organization officials said during their conference in San Antonio, Texas.
The NCBFAA Educational Institute (NEI) will conduct educational seminars around the country and provide distance-learning programs on the Internet for brokers.
“We are laying the groundwork for professionalizing our industry,” NCBFAA President Federico Zuniga said. The organization’s long-term goal is for NEI to become accredited as an educational association so that students can transfer credits to degree programs at institutions of higher learning, Zuniga said in an interview.
