NCBFAA TO HOST ACE-CUSTOMS MODERNIZATION RETREAT

The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America is holding a two-day retreat to educate the customs brokerage community on customs modernization and U.S. Customs’ developing computer-generated trade monitoring system, the Automated Commercial Environment.

The retreat will be held Nov. 7-8 in San Diego, Calif., at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.

Activities will include presentations by Customs officials, the e-Customs Partnership, U.S. Census, and NCBFAA representatives to the Trade Support Network. A closed afternoon session, but open to NCBFAA and affiliated association members, will allow participants to identify ACE and Modernization issues of importance to entry filers. There will also be closed breakout sessions where groups will attempt to reach consensus positions on issues assigned to them.

The cost for NCBFAA members is $275, and $325 for affiliated association members.

For more information on the retreat, contact Kenneth Bargteil at (410) 768-9000, NCBFAA president Federico Zuniga at (956) 722-0745, or Tom Mathers, director of communications of NCBFAA, at (202) 466-0222.
