   The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration recently cemented a partnership with Cintermex, a trade show organizer in Mexico that hosts more than 600 events per year, to cross-promote exports in each country.

   The ITA’s Commercial Service will train Cintermex staff in Mexico on the benefits of exporting and matching exhibitor clients with the right buyers. Cintermex will identify companies in the state of Nuevo Leon that want to procure products from the United States and refer them to the ITA, and develop trade fairs that match targeted industry sector buyers from both sides of the border, according to a department news release.
   In May, express delivery company DHL signed up for the ITA’s New Market Exporter Initiative. The program will train DHL sales and customer service personnel about the various resources available through the Commerce Department and other agencies because of the company’s extensive interaction with small and midsized businesses who ship parcels.
   Competitors UPS, FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service have been providing similar service for Commerce since 2010.
