Neopanamax cranes land at Port of Wilmington

Two ultra-Panamax container vessels now can be simultaneously loaded and unloaded.

North Carolina Ports announced that Neopanamax cranes have arrived at the Port of Wilmington.
The cranes allow the Port of Wilmington, which has one of the highest crane productivity rates and fastest turn times on the East Coast, to simultaneously load and unload two ultra-Panamax container vessels, according to North Carolina Ports.
“With unparalleled customer focus, excellent communication and a highly trained staff, the new cranes enable this strategically located port to deliver money-saving efficiencies while supporting customers’ global supply chain needs,” the announcement said.
The cranes are part of the Port Authority’s $200 million investment in infrastructure and the North Carolina economy.
