Neutral NVO alliance adds members The WorldWide Alliance, a network of neutral non-vessel-operating common carriers, has recently added three members: Scanway Shipping in Russia; SSL Consolidation in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland and Austria; and Transglory in Tunisia and Algeria.

Govan

   'The addition of new members further strengthens the alliance's presence in this global market,' said Fiona Govan, executive director of the WorldWide Alliance, in a statement. 'Of course, the ultimate aim is to have exclusive representation around the world, and with discussions already underway with further potential members, I am confident that in the not too distant future that goal will be reached.'
   The WorldWide Alliance, formed in 2007, allows its NVO members to maintain their individual brand identities and operations, but offers them the ability to expand in import and export trade lanes through their partnership with the other alliance members. The alliance now has exclusive representation in more than 30 countries.

Klaus

   'Shipco considers the WorldWide Alliance an integral part of our future,' said Klaus Jepsen, president of Shipco Transport, based in Hoboken, N.J., and one of the founding members of the alliance. 'Our participation in this venture is not simply doing lip service to attaining true global coverage, it's what will shape our growth and further enhance our service levels to not only key global accounts but our entire customer base worldwide.'
   The WorldWide Alliance provides its members with connectivity and cargo visibility via its Web site, www.wwalliance.com.
   In addition to Shipco and its three newest members, the alliance includes SSC Consolidation (Belgium and the Netherlands), Saco Shipping (Germany), CFR Freight (South Africa), Allink (Brazil), Combimar Agemar (Italy), Multimodal (France), Panama Consolidation Services (Panama), Interteam (Mexico), Mahe (Colombia), and Mesco (Egypt).
