New Aruba air terminal opens
A new airport terminal has opened in Oranjestad, Aruba for private jets.
The new $1.2 million facility at the Queen Beatrix International Airport has its own customs and immigration counters.
Officials say private flights in the first quarter are up 21 percent compared to the first quarter of 2006. The new facility is expected to attract more well-heeled visitors to the island, where tourism is a mainstay of the economy.
The new terminal replaces a more modest facility, and is expected to significantly speed processing for those traveling on private aircraft.
