NEW AUTO AND RO-RO BERTH OPENS IN WILMINGTON
The port of Wilmington, Del. is officially opening a $27.5-million auto and roll-on/roll-off berth today (Thursday).
The deep water auto and ro-ro berth is 875 feet long and 115 feet wide.
The port said that the new berth will enable Wilmington to capture new auto and rolling stock cargo, and to serve its customers better, including Volkswagen of America, General Motors, Volkswagen Transport and HUAL North America.
The port of Wilmington handles more than 120,000 import and export vehicles a year.
