New Bangalore airport close to opening The new international airport at Bangalore is a few months away from opening, and trial runs are due to begin at the end of the month, the Web site indiaaviation.aero reported.
   The much-delayed airport is due to open at the end of March, at which time all passenger and cargo operations will be shifted from the existing airport, some 30 kilometers away. Currently, Bangalore has no international airport, despite being India's third-busiest air hub after Delhi and Mumbai.
   The new airport is reported to have a cargo capacity of 140,000 tons per year, but some analysts believe that won't be nearly enough capacity to satisfy demand in one of India's fastest growing, and most international, cities.
