New Century acquires P&P

New Century acquires P&P New Century Transportation Inc. of Westampton, N.J., said it has acquired P&P Transport Inc. of Pennsauken, N.J. Both companies offer less-than-truckload and truckload services.
   New Century, which was founded in July 2000, said the purchase was its third acquisition within the past four years, and that it now has a fleet of 1,000 tractors.
   The deal “will enable us to bolster our ability to service new and present customers in our principal markets,” said Harry Muhlschlegel, New Century Transportation’s chairman and chief executive officer.
   P&P co-founders Charlie Zanger, president, and Joe Montgomery, vice president, will join the management of New Century.
