New chairman for Great Bear

Great Bear, the third party logistics (3PL) service provider, has appointed Paul Goodson as its chairman to succeed Jim Lockhart, who is retiring after serving as chairman since the company’s founding in 1994.
Goodson previously spent nine years with the private equity firm 3i Group and was with Barclays Private Equity for 13 years, from which he retired in November.
David Williams, Great Bear’s managing director, said,  “The board welcomes Paul and has no doubt that his experience with mid-sized private companies will continue to support Great Bear’s organic growth and future plans.”
Prior to his chairman role at Great Bear, Lockhart was a director of the Transport Development Group, now part of Norbert Dentressangle.
