New Dodge model moves through Port of Tampa    The Port of Tampa, which has benefited from its proximity to Mexico's Gulf Coast ports, just received its first shipment of the new 2009 Dodge Journey models manufactured in Mexico.

   The introduction of a new model is a boon for the selected inbound U.S. auto terminals. Tampa saw a jump in business when the Mexico-produced Chrysler PT Cruiser models started moving through Tampa in 2000.
   'It's really great to see the first shipment of these new autos here in Tampa,' said Richard Wainio, port director and chief executive officer. 'With our dedicated auto terminal, proximity to the auto auctions in Central Florida, and some 8 million consumers nearby, we are well equipped to handle increasing numbers of vehicles, as well as high and heavy equipment.'
   The Dodge Journeys are made in Toluca, Mexico, and shipped through the Port of Veracruz to Tampa.
