New Greek PM aims to restructure shipping ministry    The newly elected Greek government has laid out plans to reform the country’s civil service, including breaking up the Greek shipping ministry and splitting its functions, European maritime outlets reported Wednesday.
   The new government is proposing to group the Ministry of Mercantile Marine and Shipping into an expanding Ministry of Economy, which would be called the Ministry of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping. Meanwhile, oversight of ports, security and the Greek coastguard service would come under a new department within Greece’s Ministry of the Interior.
   New Prime Minister George Papandreou is reported to be keen to reform the industry after sweeping into power over the weekend. The opposition party that lost control was beset by corruption scandals.
