New Military Sealift Command Mideast head    The U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command has named Capt. David A. Geisler to head of its Middle East operations.
   He replaces Capt. Donald D. Hodge, who has held the position since August 2009.
   Geisler will be responsible for coordinating the air and sea delivery of personnel, mail, cargo, fuel, ammunition and provisions to a fleet of more than 40 U.S. and coalition ships operating in the U.S. Central Command area.
   The Military Sealift Command operates about 110 noncombatant, civilian-crewed ships that replenish Navy ships, preposition combat cargo at sea around the world and move military cargo and supplies used by deployed U.S. forces.
