New Orleans, Mobile law firms merge
The New Orleans law firm of Phelps Dunbar said Wednesday it is combining with Mobile’s Lyons, Pipes & Cook on July 1, a move that will bolster its presence in Alabama.
Lyons, Pipes & Cook has 25 attorneys with offices in Mobile, Gulf Shores, and Grove Hill, Ala.; and Pascagoula, Miss.
The combined firms will have 284 lawyers.
Michael D. Hunt, Phelps Dunbar's managing partner, said the two firms “match up extremely well in terms of our expertise and approach to client service. Together, we can do more for clients throughout the Southeast.'
Both firms have admiralty/maritime practices.
