New report examines trucking IT landscape

   A new report released this week by analyst eyefortransport examines how the North American trucking industry is adapting to new technologies.
   The report, Trucking IT Landscape, is based on answers from 200 respondents on the changing nature of technology’s role in the trucking industry.
   “The report provides a glimpse at how technology is set to change the trucking industry, and how solutions and solution providers are going to have to play catch-up to the demands of the industry,” eyefortransport said in a statement.
   Themes of the report includes how mobility, data and integration are the most critical areas of emphasis for trucking executives, as well as increased interest from fleet executives for improvement in transportation management systems. The report also shows that IT budgets are showing signs of increasing; 57 percent of respondents reported an increase in IT budgets, while only 5 percent reported a decrease.
