Nicor names Strobel CEO
Nicor Inc., a holding company with two principal businesses, Nicor Gas, a natural gas distributor, and Tropical Shipping, a containerized shipping company, has appointed Russ M. Strobel chief executive officer.
Strobel will continue as president of Nicor Inc., and CEO and president of Nicor Gas. He joined Nicor at the end of 2000 as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. He is also director of the American Gas Association.
Thomas L. Fisher, chairman of Nicor, will retire from the company April 1, but 'will continue to serve as non-executive chairman,' according to a statement from Nicor Inc, based in Naperville, Ill.
