The Port of Ningbo’s container volume reached 14.5 million TEUs in 2011, an increase of 10.7 percent from 2010, according to a report from the state-owned news agency Xinhua.
Ningbo has seen volume more than double since 2006, when it handled barely 7 million TEUs. It is mainland China’s third busiest container port, after world leader Shanghai and Shenzhen, and it ranks sixth globally.
