NIT LEAGUE NAMES GATTI ACTING PRESIDENT

The National Industrial Transportation League' executive committee Tuesday appointed Peter Gatti, vice president of international policy, to serve as acting president when Ed Emmett makes an earlier-than-expected departure on March 21.

“Since I have three weeks of travel planned after that, it makes more sense for me to move up my departure date,” said Emmett, outgoing NIT League president.

Gatti has been with the shippers' organization for nearly 18 years.

Kathy Luhn, the NIT League’s vice president for domestic policy, also has resigned to take another position, the League said in a statement.

Thomas F. Pellington, NIT League chairman, said the league’s board will meet in early May.
