NIT League offers one-day ocean contracting seminar    The National Industrial Transportation League, in cooperation with The Cameron Group and American Shipper, is offering shippers and non-vessel-operating common carriers a one-day ocean contracting seminar in Anaheim, Calif., March 22.
   The seminar will address key issues and concerns faced by shippers, and in the near future by NVOCCs, in the service contract arena. These include:
   * Troubling details of ocean contracts.
   * Ocean freight liability.
   * NVOCC service agreements.
   * Outsourcing the contracting and control of ocean shipping.
   * New electronic technologies to manage ocean contracts.
   “The timing of this conference is absolutely critical because it immediately precedes the contract negotiations, which will cover the 2005 peak season,” said Peter Gatti, executive vice president of NIT League. “The peak season clearly presents challenges for everyone involved in the freight transportation system.
   “The conference will successfully take companies step by step through this difficult process,” he said.
