Nobel winner to address Bi-National Chambers The Association of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce in Florida will honor 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunis March 15 at Ritz Carlton Hotel in the Coconut Grove area of Miami.
   Yunis, an economics professor at the University of Bangladesh, received the Nobel Peace Prize for developing the concept of microcredit as a means of starting new businesses in developing countries. Microcredit is the practice of providing small loans without collateral. Yunis started the practice himself with a loan of $27 of his own money to a small group of craftsmen in the town of Jobra, Bangladesh. He now heads the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, which has provided $5.1 billion in loans to an estimated 5.3 million people.
