NOBER BECOMES STB CHAIRMAN
Roger Nober was designated chairman of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board Tuesday. He replaces Linda Morgan, who headed the agency since 1995.
Prior to joining the STB, Nober served as counselor to the deputy secretary of transportation at the Transportation Department. From 1997 to 2001, he served as chief counsel to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He also served stints as counsel to the House Subcommittee on Surface Transportation during the 1990s.
Nober’s term at the STB expires Dec. 31, 2005.
