Noe, long-time APL exec, passes

   David Noe, vice president of sales, marketing and customer support in the Americas for APL, died Thursday following a protracted illness. 
   He was receiving care in Texas at the time of his death. His age was not available at press time. 
   Noe spent 26 years with APL. He worked in a variety of roles for the liner carrier in Houston; Nashville and Memphis, Tenn.; Seoul; Hong Kong; Oakland, Calif.; Chicago; and Scottsdale, Ariz. 
   “More than numbers, David’s legacy to NOL is in the relationships he leaves behind. Customers respected David for his understanding of their business and commitment to their success.,” said Gene Seroka, APL’s president for the Americas, in a statement to employees. “The colleagues he managed appreciated his support, guidance and friendship. He will be greatly missed by all of us who came into contact with him.” 
   “For so many customers of APL, David was respected in the highest regard as an subject matter expert in this industry,” said John Joseph, director of imports at J. Crew Group, Inc. 
   “In his working with customers through both good and difficult times, David was always level and fair in his approach, and very close to all of his customers and colleagues in the industry – he will be greatly missed by all of us,” Joseph added. 
   Noe is survived by his wife, Stacey, and three children; Shane, Russell, and Kelley. Funeral services will be held on Nov. 17-18 in Spring, Texas. In Noe’s memory, APL parent NOL will make a donation to the Dr. Groves Brain Cancer Research Center in Houston.
