NOL HIRES MERCER MANAGEMENT

NOL HIRES MERCER MANAGEMENT

Neptune Orient Lines Ltd. said Wednesday that the NOL Group, based in Oakland, Calif., had engaged Mercer Management Consulting to assist APL Logistics in making strategic decisions.

Flemming R. Jacobs, NOL Group President and chief executive officer, said NOL had separately hired McKinsey & Company to assess options in the area of business-to-business exchanges.

“Focusing on our logistics business” is the “third of three steps,” Jacobs said. “The first was to strengthen the financial base of the company, and the second was to strengthen the organization of our liner business. We want to move logistics forward to challenge the liner business as the major breadwinner of our group.”
