North Korean cargo ship calls at Busan Port

The first North Korean-flagged vessel, Kang Sung, anchored Monday at South Korea’s Busan Port for the first time since the division of the Korean Peninsula.

The Busan Port Authority (BPA) said that the 1,853-ton ship called at pier 6 at Gamcheon Harbor at 7:20 a.m. and unloaded 60 empty containers before departing at 6 p.m. back to Najin Port, located close to the North Korea-Russia border.

Starting from this calling, the vessel will do three trips a month between Busan and North Korea’s Nampo Port.
