NSCSA cuts Baltimore/Mideast transit time

NSCSA cuts Baltimore/Mideast transit time    National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia will begin making a second call in Baltimore on its service between North America and the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.
   Baltimore will be the first inbound call on the service, rather than New York, and it will make a second call in addition to New York on eastbound sailings.
   The company said the changes mean transit time from Baltimore to Middle East and Indian Subcontinent destinations will be halved, to about 15 days.
   Ray Jozwiak, marketing analyst for NSCSA, said the line was making the change, effective Nov. 6, because many shippers prefer to use Baltimore.
   The new rotation will be: Baltimore; Houston; Savannah, Ga.; Baltimore; New York; Halifax; Jeddah and Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates; Port Qasim, Pakistan; Mumbai, India; Jeddah; Livorno, Italy; and Baltimore.
   The service will also call Wilmington, N.C., on inducement.
