NVO-GAC HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING JAN. 8    A group of U.S. and overseas-based non-vessel-operating common carriers will hold its second annual meeting in Newark, N.J., on Jan. 8.
   The NVO-Government Affairs Conference plans to discuss its future activities going forward in 2003 and beyond. Some of these issues concern elimination of tariff filing, Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, antitrust immunity and confidential contracting.
   “The meeting will be attended by the core group of 18 companies,” said Joseph T. Saggese, managing director of the NVO-GAC. “But we encourage any interested NVO executive to attend.”
   The meeting will be held at the Hilton Newark Airport Hotel and will last most of the day.
