NWA Cargo hikes fuel surcharge

NWA Cargo hikes fuel surcharge

Responding to higher fuel prices as oil has shot up past $100 per barrel, Northwest Airlines said it will raise its fuel charge from 85 cents to 95 cents per kilogram on international flights, excluding those originating from Japan.

Additionally, westbound transpacific shipments from the United States to Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, and points beyond will now be subject to a 15 cent-per-kilogram fuel surcharge above current all-in base rates.

Domestic fuel surcharges will be raised from 34 cents to 38 cents per pound.
