NYK acquires Belgian logistics firm Mondia

NYK Logistics (Belgium) has acquired the Belgian logistics company Mondia. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Privately owned Mondia is an inbound and internal logistics specialist for engineering manufacturers. It has operations in Charleroi, Belgium, and Arras and Grenoble, France. The business employs some 160 staff and runs a fleet of vehicles.

Mondia was established in the late 1960s and has grown to cover all areas of logistics, including stock management and subassembly, transport and warehousing. NYK will manage all of Mondia’s operations, though Mondia will keep its trading names and legal entities.

NYK said the takeover will extend its manufacturing logistics skills to new regions and sectors of Europe.

B.V. Piet Boogaard, director of NYK Logistics (Netherlands), will take overall responsibility for the supervision of Mondia as acting director. The company’s two previous owners will retain their association with the business and work with Boogaard.
