NYK adds Long Beach to “Marex” service

   NYK Line is adding calls at Long Beach to its Asia/Hawaii/North America/West Coast South America “Margarita Express” service to move Central and South American cargoes.

   The first westbound voyage to Long Beach will be made by the “Sanuki” when the ship calls on July 26. The first eastbouind call at Long Beach will be made by the vessel “Soga” on Aug. 4.

   The “Marex” service uses six ship averaging 1,175 TEUs and has a sailing frequency of every 10 days. The revised port rotation for the service is Hong Kong; Keelung; Busan; Kobe; Yokohama; Honolulu; Long Beach, Calif. (loading only); Manzanillo, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; Acajutla, El Salvador; Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica; Buenaventura, Colombia; Corinto, Nicaragua; Puerto Quetzal; Manzanillo; Long Beach (discharging only); Honolulu; Yokohama and back to Hong Kong.

   Following the additional call at Long Beach, previous calls at San Lorenzo, Honduras, will be dropped. Cargo for San Lorenzo will instead be discharged at Corinto and be forwarded by truck.
