NYK AND HYUNDAI AGREE SLOT CHARTER FOR ASIA/MIDEAST SERVICE

   Tokyo-based Nippon Yusen Kaisha said that it will charter slots on Hyundai Merchant Marine’s weekly Korea Middle East Service “KMS.”

   The agreement commences with the arrival of the vessel “Hyundai Stride” at Inchon on April 1.

   The service rotation for the “KMS” is Inchon, Busan, Keelung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, Dubai, Dammam, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Pasir Gudang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Keelung and back to Inchon.

   NYK and the Taiwanese carrier Wan Hai Lines jointly operate the “KMS” service.

   Following the slot charter deal, NYK will now operate two direct weekly services from Asia to the Mideast, as it already provides the Gulf Kuwait Express “GKX” service in cooperation with P&O Nedlloyd.
