NYK COMPLETES E-COMMERCE LINKS WITH GT NEXUS AND INTTRA

The Japanese shipping group NYK has completed the integration of its information system with those of GT Nexus and INTTRA, the container shipping portals, effective yesterday (July 22).

NYK announced in March that it would join both portals. The carrier has cooperated with GT Nexus and INTTRA on the integration of NYK’s IT system with those industry portals.

NYK said that customers who complete user registration and carrier set-up with the portals can now exchange data via the portals pertaining to schedules, container tracking, bookings, shipping instructions (via GT Nexus only), and bills of lading.

The systems’ integration and electronic data interchange is built on the IT infrastructure of Pegasus, NYK’s in-house Internet system.

NYK said that it would also join CargoSmart, the third carrier-backed container shipping portal.
