NYK ends chassis in Minneapolis, Oakland    NYK Line North America said it will no longer provide chassis in Minneapolis and Oakland for import and export containers moving merchant haulage bills of lading.
   There will be no change to the chassis provision for carrier's haulage shipments
   NYK said it is reducing its involvement in the chassis business in smaller markets to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of having a large number of chassis that are only used intermittently and have to be stored and moved.
   “This policy change will not only lower total cost but will also build greater flexibility for the trucker, minimizing inefficiencies in the performance of their daily work,' NYK Line said. 'In addition, the policy change will have an immediate impact on terminal congestion reducing turn time and ultimately providing a better product for the customer.”
