NYK joins Evergreen Asia/Europe loop

NYK joins Evergreen Asia/Europe loop    Japanese liner carrier NYK Line said Thursday it has joined an Evergreen-operated Asia/Europe loop.
   NYK has joined as a slot buyer on Evergreen's CES loop, which has a rotation of Kaohsiung, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong, Yantian, Colombo, Taranto, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Thamesport, Taranto, Colombo and Kaohsiung. CMA CGM is also a slot buyer on the Evergreen service, which operates with 10 Evergreen vessels with an average capacity of 7,129 TEUs, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
   NYK said it began participating in the service as of Dec. 28, and its participation was already reflected by ComPair Data. The Japanese line said the service will connect in Taranto to two Adriatic feeder services — its AD1 service, with a rotation of Taranto, Triest and Taranto rotation; and its AD2, with a rotation of Taranto, Koper, Venice, Rijeka and Taranto.
