NYK Line appoints Barth managing director for Germany

NYK Line appoints Barth managing director for Germany Japanese shipping group NYK has appointed Klaus-Peter Barth as managing director of NYK Line (Deutschland) GmbH.
   Barth previously worked for the two major German container lines, Hapag-Lloyd and Hamburg S'd, as well as spending time with Anglo-Dutch carrier P&O Nedlloyd, bought by Maersk Line in 2005.
   As head of NYK Line's German organization, Barth will be responsible for offices in Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt as well as the Austrian agency. He will also coordinate NYK Line's activity in Eastern Europe and Russia.
   Barth’s hire completes the restructuring of NYK Group Europe-Liner Division that started in August last year with the appointment of individual country heads.
