The new company, based in Ricany near Prague, is the NYK group’s 12th logistics company in Europe. It will assume the distribution activities currently provided to the retail group Tesco by New Wave Logistics (Deutschland) Gmbh, another NYK company.
NYK said the establishment of this new company “will lead to an improved and more comprehensive range of services by being closer to the local market.” The Japanese group also believes that it may find business opportunities with Japanese manufacturers with operations in the Czech Republic.
