NYK to establish logistics company for finished cars in Colombia

The Japanese liner company signed a joint-venture agreement this week with Intermodal S.A. to establish NYK Auto Logistics Colombia S.A.S. at the Port of Cartagena, Colombia.    NYK signed a joint-venture agreement with inland transportation and container storage provider Intermodal S.A. this week to establish NYK Auto Logistics Colombia S.A.S, a logistics company for finished cars.
   The finished-car logistics terminal will be located in Cartagena, situated in northern Colombia along the Caribbean coast.
   Terminal operator Puerto Bahia will operate the finished-car logistics terminal, which includes pre-delivery inspection.
   Finished car production in Mexico is on the rise and car shipments from Mexico to Colombia are expected to increase, NYK said in a statement.
