Ocean3 alters Asia-Europe loop

The Ocean3 Alliance, comprised of ocean carriers CMA CGM, CSCL and UASC, is dropping calls at Dalian and Zeebrugge on its FAL 1 service.

   The Ocean3 Alliance, comprised of ocean carriers CMA CGM, CSCL and UASC, is adjusting its Asia-Europe FAL 1 service, which CMA CGM said is in order to improve service reliability.
   The service’s last vessel calling Zeebrugge will be Aug. 29 with the CMA CGM Vasco de Gama and its last vessel calling Dalian will be with the CMA CGM Magellan, estimated to arrive at the Chinese port Sept. 16.
   After these changes are made, the new port rotation of the FAL 1 will be Southampton, Dunkirk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Malta, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Shanghai, Xingang/Tianjin, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Port Kelang, Algeciras and back to Southampton.
   According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the FAL 1 currently deploys 12 vessels operated by CMA CGM with an average vessel capacity of 16,367 TEUs and a total rotation time of 84 days. Slot purchasers include CMA CGM’s subsidiary lines ANL and US Lines, as well as APL, COSCO, Evergreen Line and FESCO.
   The current port rotation for the FAL 1 is Southampton, Dunkirk, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Shanghai, Xingang/Tianjin, Dalian, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Port Kelang, Algeciras and back to Southampton.
