OMI Corp. has ordered a 47,000-deadweight-ton ice class 1A product carrier to be built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea.

The vessel, to be named “Thames,” is scheduled for delivery in August 2005. This is the first vessel of this size and design for OMI, which already has six 37,000-deadweight-ton ice class 1A vessels being built by the same South Korean shipyard.
