India-based Oil and Natural Gas Corp. has floated a tender to charter 10 offshore supply vessels to keep its oil transport business off the coast of Mumbai afloat.
ONGC was hit in late July by a decision from India's Directorate General of Shipping to recall 27 of its 46 vessels for safety audits after a similar vessel sank near Mumbai. The charter would include seven tug-supply vessels and three supply ships, which would be used to transfer crude from oil fields off the coast of Mumbai to landside jetties, the Economic Times reported.
