OOCL Asia-Europe increase trumps Maersk-MSC

The liner carrier OOCL said Tuesday it plans to hike rates on the westbound Asia-Europe trade from May 1.
The increase, $450 per TEU, is applicable to the Far East (excluding Japan), the Indian Subcontinent, and Middle East to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
OOCL’s proposed hike is larger than the $400 per TEU increases on the same date announced last week by Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Co.
