OOCL changes U.K. export demurrage terms OOCL will from the start of next month reduce its export demurrage free time at ports in the United Kingdom from 11 days to seven days.
   This follows the decision of Southampton Container Terminal to combat rising container dwell times by no longer accepting delivery of export laden containers more than seven days prior to the vessel arrival day.
   'Consequently we have no alternative other than to amend our demurrage rules and charges prior to loading to ensure cost recovery,' OOCL said.
   From April 1, OOCL's charges from the eighth to 24th day will be:
   * Dry 20-foot container, '12 per day ('24 per day thereafter).
   * Dry 40-foot container, '24 per day ('48 per day thereafter).
   * Reefer 20-foot container, '21 per day ('33 per day thereafter).
   * Reefer 40-foot container, '33 per day ('49 per day thereafter).
