OOCL to open offices in Spain, Portugal

OOCL to open offices in Spain, Portugal    Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line said today it will establish two new companies to take over its agency responsibilities in Spain and Portugal.
   OOCL (Spain) and OOCL (Portugal) will open for business Dec. 1, with offices located in Barcelona, Bilbao, Vigo, Madrid in Spain and Lisbon and Leixoes in Portugal.
   Maritima del Oriente and Maritima do Oriente have recently served as OOCL’s agents in Spain and Portugal, respectively.
   “Spain and Portugal are of growing importance to OOCL. Setting up OOCL offices is consistent with our global policy of having our own offices in our key markets, which ensures that our customers fully benefit from our sophisticated in-house integrated systems,” said Ted Wang, managing director OOCL (Europe) Ltd.
