OOCL vet Wong to retire in October

Liner carrier OOCL said last week that long-serving executive Henry Wong, director of corporate logistics and fleet management, will retire from the company on Oct. 31.

Paul Devine, senior vice president of sales of OOCL (USA), will be appointed general manager of corporate logistics effective Nov. 1, and will relocate to Hong Kong in early October.

Erxin Yao, president of OOCL (USA), will also assume Devine's former role, the line said.

'Throughout his 38 years tenure, Mr. Wong had been instrumental in leading the group under various management capacities in headquarters, Australia and Europe to help build OOCL into one of the leading carriers in the industry,' the line said. 'While Mr. Wong will retire from his present capacity, we are fortunate to have him stay on as an advisor and continue to contribute his expertise to the group for one more year.'
