Oracle takes on waste management

   In an effort to help companies track waste and comply with material control laws, Oracle has launched a waste management solution for its Oracle E-Business Suite.
   Oracle said the new waste service will be able to integrate with existing services such as the Oracle Depot Repair, Oracle Transportation Management, and Oracle Global Trade Management. When integrated, the E-Business Suite automates and monitors waste management processes within the entire platform.
   The service allows customers to view in-transit inventory across the extended supply chain, while also providing a single repository for all regulatory documentation and information. Oracle said its goal is to help companies and their reverse supply chain partners to avoid fines and recover the maximum value from used assets and salvaged parts.
   So far, the suite helps companies address track-and-trace requirements for electronics shippers in the United States, European Union, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
