OWL makes promotions

Ocean World Lines, a Lake Success, N.Y.-based non-vessel-operating common carrier and subsidiary of Pacer International, has announced three new business development positions, effective immediately.

Lynn Ocasio, formerly export manager, has become branch manager, responsible for OWL's Chicago and Cincinnati offices, including operations, local sales and accounting activities. She has been with OWL for 13 years and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, previously working for Kamden International and Meiko America.

Bettina Csekme has been promoted to the newly created position of director of the Asia-U.S. inbound service, where she works closely with both OWL's Asia and U.S. offices. She also oversees OWL360, the company's proprietary systems platform, as well as inbound carrier management and pricing. She joined OWL in 2006 and has been in the industry for 18 years, holding positions with Target Corp. and Kuehne + Nagel.

Wendy Fung was named to the newly created position of Asia-U.S. route development manager. She is responsible for facilitating business from Asia to United States. Prior to OWL, Fung worked in sales and marketing positions for Costco Wholesale and in education for the State University of New York and Berlitz Language School.

All three positions report to Daniel Gardner, OWL's chief executive officer.
