PACER INTERNATIONAL ACQUIRES CONEX

   Pacer International Inc. said Friday that it has acquired Conex Global
Logistics, based in Los Angeles.
   Pacer said Conex expands its transloading, local-trucking, warehousing and
other logistics operations as well as its intermodal marketing activities.
   Conex is the eighth logistics or transportation-oriented company to be
acquired by Walnut Creek, Calif.-based Pacer in the past two years.
   Established in 1977, Conex handles 225,000 loads annually at facilities in
Los Angeles, San Diego and Calexico, Calif.; Seattle; and Atlanta. The company had
revenues of $42 million in fiscal 1999.
   Michael Keller, Conex’s president and chief executive officer, has been named
president of Pacer’s freight consolidation and warehousing business, said Donald C. Orris,
chief executive office of Pacer.
