Pacer logistics subsidiary expanding SoCal capacity Third-party logistics and freight transportation provider Pacer International Inc. has signed a lease for a new 194,000-square-foot warehouse facility in Carson, Calif.
   The lease expands the firm's Southern California warehouse capacity to more than 800,000 square feet.
   The new high-velocity transload and warehouse facility, located about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and just over five miles north of the San Pedro Bay port complex, will be under the management of the Pacer International subsidiary Pacer Distribution Services.
   PDS, which also oversees Southern California facilities in Lynwood and South Gate, will coordinate operations at the three facilities as a regional 'campus' within the parent firm's logistics service network. Pacer's single-source drayage fleet of 130 owner-operator rigs serves the tripartite PDS 'campus.'
   Financial details and length of the lease were not released.
